The challenge: The Ohio EPA and Black River Remedial Action Plan needed to show federal, state and local agencies detailed information on how funding dollars were used to successfully clean up industrial and agricultural pollution, improve the local economy and stimulate recreational use of Lorain, Ohio's Black River.
The solution: Researching the history of the river, the community and the restoration project, Gay recommended a way to let people tell their own story. As producer, director and writer on this project, she used an interview-driven approach to engage environmental experts, project leaders and Lorain residents to explain and visualize the project's success and why this river matters. |

The challenge: The Ohio EPA needed to condense the remarkable story of the environmental transformation of Cleveland's Cuyahoga River after the industrial fire in 1969 that drew national attention. They also needed to tell the story of what still remains to be done to improve water quality and recreational use.
The solution: Key players tell the dramatic story of the burning river and the environmental agencies responsible for the turnaround -- and the next steps needed. "Celebrating 35 Years of LEAP:
Linking Employment, Abilities and Potential" The challenge: In a tight four-weeks timeline, LEAP needed a compelling, emotional video for a benefit event celebrating 35 years of advancing a society of equal opportunity for all persons, regardless of disability.
The solution: Gay studied the nonprofit's mission, the target audience and the key objectives. She helped select the right people to tell the story, contracted with a videographer, set up and directed on-camera interviews, wrote the script and supervised editing. The result was an overwhelmingly successful video driving donations and inspiring support at LEAP's benefit event. |
